Karen Marie (Geatz) Dokken, 72, of Greenbush, MN, died Monday, January 27, 2014 at Moorhead, MN.
Karen Dokken was born Karen Marie Geatz, the daughter of Adam & Clarice (Bergan) Geatz on March 28, 1941 at Grand Forks, ND. She grew up and attended school in Grand Forks. She was employed at a variety of jobs over the years.
She married Elmer Dokken on January 8, 1976 at Grand Forks. They worked in the Norman Funeral Home at Grand Forks for 10 years. They also operated a milk truck route out of Greenbush for many years. Elmer died on February 12, 2003. Karen was currently employed at the Twin’s Rock’n 50’s Café in Greenbush at the time of her death.
Karen enjoyed driving her car and loved animals of all kinds.
She is survived by 2 brothers—Bill (Marge) Geatz of Fargo, ND and Alan Geatz, also of Fargo.
3 step-sons—Larry (Wanda) Dokken of Williston, ND.
David (Deb) Dokken of Greenbush and
Curtis Dokken of New Town, ND.
Several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by
her parents and husband.
Funeral Service were held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Greenbush, with Father Luis Buitron, officiating. Music was provided by Jeanne Novacek and Darcy Hasson. Natalie Geatz Bugbee was the reader. Altar Servers were Evan and Jack Peppel, Gift Bearers were Bonnie & Mike Lantry and Eucharistic Ministers were Theresa Novacek and Christine Stanislawski. Casket Bearers were Bill, Alan & Paul Geatz, David, Larry & Curtis Dokken.
Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Grand Forks, ND.
Arrangements were with Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush.
